Clinical management of mammary carcinoma in dogs: Current scenario

Mammary carcinoma is one of the most common skin tumors mammary gland area in canine. Fifty cases were reported during period study at Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex and Department Surgery Radiology. Eighty animals screened for selecting fifty these are subjects present population. The prevalence across age groups highest among 8 to 12 years, followed by years least dogs below years. Breed wise predisposition was Labrador (36.67%), Spitz German shepherd (20% each), Mongrel (10%), Dachshund (6.67%), Rottweiler beagle (3.33% each). More malignant (70%) with metastasis regional lymph node a finding. Malignancy criteria size, hardness, tumor lymphocenter. Axillary 1st, 2nd inguinal, medial iliac 2nd, 3rd, 4th site metastasis. Most patient had clinical stage III (30%) II (23.33%).
